Around the Naturfreundehaus (which is open on weekends from May to September), you will find numerous quarries where Flonheim sandstone was quarried for centuries.
A signposted turnoff at the entrance to the village leads to one of these quarries, the background of which is explained in more detail on an information board displayed there.

Back on the main path, the route goes downhill to Flonheim.
In the information center on the historic market square, you can delve further into the region's geological past of the region. (On weekends open)
