Tourism boom in Rheinhessen! Rheinhessen outperforms the national and state average with its growth rates and remains the top destination for short breaks!
2024 Rheinhessen exceeds the national and state average with +5.3 % guests & +4.9 % overnight stays! The success factors are: Wine experiences, culture & active holidays. Mainz is leading the way and shines with +8.9% overnight stays, but the Alzeyer Land is also growing dynamically with increasing overnight stays and an expanded offer for guests! Increasing numbers of international visitors, especially from the USA and the Netherlands, demonstrate the attractiveness of the region.
Thanks to strong campaigns (25 million brand contacts!), the region continues to grow. A turnover of € 1.2 billion shows: Tourism is a strong economic factor! This also increases the opportunities for new skilled workers in the catering and hotel industry.
